Bad News: Our inner demons are real.
We are also plagued by demons, evil spirits, personalities we cannot see. Some people don’t believe in demons. Others that do, will actually contact them and attempt to draw power from them.
Notice what the Bible says about who and what we really wrestle with in our lives:
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:12).
The human mind is spiritual, and these evil spirits attack us through our minds. Everyone has had thoughts that sounded like they came from within, but were really from external demons. Demons lie to us and tell us: we’re fat, ugly, less of a man (or woman), and nobody loves us. Or, that we’re better than other people. They tell us to fulfill unhealthy lusts and desires that they put in us. They warp us, pervert us, convince us to make sinful decisions that lead to the destruction of our lives.
Demons can also dwell in us, through the conduit of sin. The more we sin, the more they gain an entry into our souls until they gain full control over our lives. As mankind continues to sin, he destroys his relationship with the holy God in Heaven provoking his wrath. This is the demon’s plan – they want us to be destroyed.
Just for clarification: demons can not make any one of us sin, they just tempt and persuade us to do so. You allow them greater mental influence and control through ignorance and continual sin. Everyone struggles with demons whether they realize it or not.
Many people are oppressed by demons and there is nothing any man can do for them. These people’s minds have been taken over and their lifestyle becomes completely perverted. They’re self-centered, lack kindness, they are liars, manipulative, controlling, abusive and debased. No amount of drugs or therapy can change them because this is a spiritual problem.
Think about your life. Think about some of the thoughts you have – the noise and confusion in your mind – the voices – your actions and your weird desires. You used to say you’d never do this or that, but now you’re doing that, and you enjoy it. Where do you think this came from?
Think about some of the people you know who have lost their minds, or the homeless man who talks to himself. Think about all the evil people you know and their actions. If you don’t believe in demons you are a prime candidate to be used and controlled by them. This evil and twisted world is the result of demons pressuring and persuading mankind to continue in sin. When you look at Detroit City and the overall degradation of America, and finally the world, you can see that the demons have been at work.
