3 Big Lies About Masculinity
The first time I heard these three lies exposed was by a little league, football coach/pastor named Joe Ehrmann. Later on, I heard some similar lies exposed by a minister named Dr. Voddie Baucham. I was amazed because it was so true.
I’m doing this video series to:
- Explore biblical love, which is what real masculinity is rooted in.
- Convey the deep and devastating impact of these lies on males.
- And as a warning to youth mentors and ministers.
When I was a youth minister, it was at a men’s conference that I heard these lies exposed, yet these truths went right over my fellow staff members’ heads. So I am creating these next series of videos / articles for them because many of them operate in these lies and teach the same.
All three of the points mentioned above resulted from what I felt was a lack of dept and urgency on the parts of both teachers who exposed these lies. On some level, it didn’t seem as if they knew how big of an issue these lies were, and so this is my version and uncovering of these lies in accordance with what the Lord showed me.
Bottom line: these lies set males up for destruction from a very young age. If you believe any one of these lies, your life is being hindered, along with your relationships with others, and especially with God Almighty. Terribly, these will guarantee your destruction in hell.
But of course, Jesus saves, and the truth will make you free.
What are the three lies about masculinity?
- You must compete with other men in the areas of the mind, muscles & materials.
- You must have sex with women, the conquest of women and being married.
- You must cut off certain emotions, don’t deal with hurts and pains or express them. Compassion is weakness.
