Religion has done very little to change the physical, economic, and spiritual condition of black people. Ultimately, religion has pushed black people away from God.
The aftermath. We’ve seen how the movement of Jesus was corrupted, the Bible was twisted to maintain slavery, and images of a white Jesus used to hide the true identity of the Hebrew African slaves. Today, the destructive aftermath of religion is evident.
The races remain divided
The majority of the churches in America continue to remain segregated by race. Most Christians churches are predominantly black or white. If there is some mixture, the racist ideas continue to prevail. You’ll see whites in most of the leadership positions and, if the hierarchy changes, you’ll see whites find a new church because white superiority can not submit to black leadership. If there was truly a move of God within Christianity today, the Church would be the only place you’d see whites and blacks in equal, loving fellowship.
Ripping black people off
What kind of leader looks at the poor in his community, but goes ahead and squeezes out the remaining little money the people earned, only to buy himself a fancy car, big house and a private jet? What kind of man does that? Your local black preacher.
Tithing or giving to the black church has become a big problem because these churches don’t really invest that money back into these needy communities. Just go to the “black part” of most American cities and you’ll find ghettos with a liquor store, check cashing store, beauty salon, barbershop, and churches on every corner. Across the street are the impoverished, homeless and addicted; prostitution, gangs, drug dealers and pimps. The black church’s existence has done nothing to transform their environment. But every Sunday there’s shouting and dancing from inside the church walls.
11.5 billion dollars is collected annually by black churches but not enough is done to help the communities they get it from. How about using that money to provide shelter for the homeless, loans to start businesses, a community farm to feed the people healthy food? How about investing into the people instead of a few church staff.
However, I do give credit to the churches that do serve their communities through food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and thrift stores. They do exist. I’ve personally supported and benefited from them, but the majority don’t do enough to create real change in their communities. I mention this because they can. It’s not that hard. The book of Acts gives us some examples.
So why don’t these black preachers lead the way in truly transforming their communities for the good? Because these leaders are not followers of the true God. Simple as that.
During slavery, the position of preacher was the only position a black man could have where he felt respected. Therefore today, some men seek the position of preacher for the respect and the money.
With riches and honor as his motivation, it goes to his head and he begins to thinks he’s a god. He’s now suffering from the same insanity of the white supremacist. As these pastors lift themselves up as god, the people worship with weekly payments.
The members justify their financial struggle while the pastor has a surplus with the false idea that “their king” is blessed and highly favored and must be applying those important “principles of faith” he talks so much about on Sundays. But in actuality, he’s just getting the money from the people.
Black people have become slaves all over again, but now, their master is their pastor.
If more black men dealt with their post traumatic slave syndrome, low self-esteem, and other issues, they wouldn’t be going into ministry to pimp the people for honor, control and material riches. Ultimately, these men have no connection with God because God is the only one who can heal them. Instead, they use position and money to hide their problems.
Distracted and in bondage to sin
Another end result of the system of religion is wicked people. Christian religion should be changing the people into the image of Christ yet the congregants grow worse while thinking their relationship with God is in tack.
It’s the pastor’s fault for not preaching the truth, but we can’t just blame him, the people are in on it too. This is another reason why they keep the money rolling in, to hear the messages that make them feel good; and the pastor knows it. So the pastor and the people have a symbiotic relationship. The bible said this would happen:
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables (2 Tim 4:3-4)
Another scripture:
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron (1 Tim 4:1-2)
This leads me to their false teachings. One is what is call Eternal Security and the other Works Salvation.
I’m not going in depth because I’ve written much about them already in my book Misunderstanding of Faith, but the bottom line is: Eternal Security basically leads people to believe they’re going to heaven regardless of their continual sin. Some go so far as to teach that repentance is unnecessary.
The other side of the coin is Works Salvation which basically leads people to believe that all they have to do is perform good works and they will obtain eternal life. It’s funny how that’s no where in the bible and that it kind of makes Jesus’ sacrifice unnecessary.
Good works like regular church attendance, tithing, abstaining from drinking or cursing, sheltering the homeless, giving to the poor and taking care of one’s own family are what misinformed Christians think will secure a place for them in heaven. But on the other hand, these same people are liars, manipulators, thieves, self-centered, unkind and disrespectful with an overall lack of the true love of God. The bible continues to prophesy:
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away (2 Tim 3:1-5).
These things are clearly going on in the Harlot Church today. I don’t know who’s worst of the two groups, but they’ve both are mislead into thinking they have a place in heaven. What a terrible day it will be for those people when they stand before the God of Righteousness and Holiness.
Depressed, Oppressed and unable to stand
When the church doesn’t have the real Jesus, the real gospel, or the real Holy Spirit, they have to fake it. Faking it requires a lot of church activities and maintenance to keep the charade going. This requires people to work long hours organizing events, performing, cleaning up after the church and so forth. While some are paid, most are not. Many church people are depressed due to the stress of the demands of the pastor on top of their daily employment and family duties. Some people spend more time with their church than their own families.
So it’s just like slavery all over again, only this time, the church is the plantation that separates people from their families.
Now when the slaves/church members start to wake up and realize they’ve been lied too, or they can no longer bear the abuse from their ungodly so-called Christian brothers and sisters, or they’re fed up with being guilt-tripped into giving money, they confront the pastor.
In return, these people are immediately weighed down with extra duties, and scolded from the pulpit. Failure to comply with the program and that person is shunned so bad that they leave the church, or their membership is revoked and they’re told never to return. That kind of treatment can be painful for some people, but it’s a warning to the rest of the slaves on the plantation to stay in line, keep working and keep putting that money in that offering plate or they too will lose the only community they have.
It’s no wonder only 13% of black churches supported MLK during the Civil Rights Movement. That means 87% of the rest refused to join in the fight for freedom! Surely the black church should be at the forefront against all sins especially racism, but they were strangely silent then as they are today. Why? Because the black preacher has become the modern day slave supervisor used to keep the slaves in bondage to systems of racism and to prevent an uprising.
Becoming a spokesmen for black inferiority
If being silent about systematic oppression, sin, or turning a blind eye to poverty while stealing the rest of the community’s last dime isn’t bad enough, the system of religion has damaged some people to the point that they become spokesmen for white supremacy and black inferiority.
Christian leader and talk show host Jesse Lee Peterson, and Youtube famed Pastor David James Manning are notorious for regurgitating white supremacy propaganda and every negative thing in the black community without ever dealing with the racist systems that engineer the problems.
But some of these men do have solutions like programs that supposedly reshape the black man into a “good moral Christian.” While immorality is the problem with every man on earth, these leaders tend to emphasis the sins of black men and greatly minimize the wickedness of everyone else, even so far as to say that racism doesn’t even exist.
The end result of these men’s “programs” is continual bondage to the system of racism/white supremacy and making of an uppity Christian negro who thinks he’s better than that “hood negro” struggling under oppression and making foolish decisions due to social engineering. I’m talking about that black man with his pants sagging, hair draped down to his back, no job, unmarried, babies by different women, with a criminal record—the lowest of the low in the black community.
Instead of helping these miseducated, weak men (because their state is an obvious sign of ignorance and weakness), these new Christian negroes try their best to get as far away from them as possible; while joining the opposing side, pointing the finger and condemning the hood negro. But if this new and improved black man was really a follower of Jesus, he would seek to help his weak brothers in the hood.
Back in slavery, they separated negroes into groups. There was the house negro who thought he was better than the field negro because he worked in the white man’s house. What the house negro didn’t understand was that the separation was part of a system designed to control the whole group.
With the house negro living a little more comfortable than the rest of field negroes, he’d be less likely to jeopardize his position by revolting and more likely to snitch on the field negroes planning an escape. His position gave him pride and he didn’t want to lose what little he was given, and he began to despise the field negroes just as much as his master.
Today, the uppity Christian negro has been tricked into division as well. By moving far from the hood and despising his own people, his education and resources won’t be used to empower the people of his nation. The end result is more division and continual bondage.
Religion pushes black people away from God
So the end result of the system of religion is this: A bunch of people who continue in spiritual and financial slavery to the day they die, never really connecting to the real Jesus, and ending up in hell for all eternity. Or, a bunch of hurt and abused Christians who give up religion, reject Christ altogether and end up in the same place—that’s plain sad.
Those who’ve never been a Christian are turned off to the idea of a relationship with Christ before they ever meet him. They look at church people as weird, and want no part of Christianity. The black church member, especially the men, are seen as weak and stupid in the eyes of the world. Even the black church women would prefer a “thug” on the street than that bible-carrying armor bearer.
The world knows that this religion turns men into sissies, just like the man featured on the paintings on the church walls. Worldly people look at Jesus as a joke, he’s irrelevant to them and so they never receive him. What Satan has done is used a fake Jesus to hinder them from coming to the real deal.
Finally, for the people who can’t do without religion, they end up following other false gods like Horus/Ra of ancient Egypt, or Allah of Islam. And this causes another set of divisions within the black community because men of different religions can’t unite.
If not religion, some go into Pan Africanism, an organization which seeks to unify all African peoples to better their condition and come against white supremacy.
And then there’s Judaism which includes man-made rituals associated with Israelite nationality, but I’ve already stated why I can’t join the Black Hebrew Israelites.
Overall, Horus, Ra, Allah and Pan Africanism have done little to liberate black people. The Israelite in Christ Jesus has the answer, but there’s still too much pride among the masses of Israelites for real change to happen. But it will happen as the Bible foretells.
What a shame and how terrible this all is. The power of religion is so destructive and has so many consequences. You can guarantee those who use it to control, oppress and profit will be judged. The only solutions are to drop religion altogether, detox, heal and revisit the bible with fresh eyes. Add to that humility with guidance of the Holy Spirit and you got the start of something great. But men must be born again and seek out the real God and his son Jesus Christ and they will find him.
If you’ve abandoned Christ for something else, or if you’ve said to yourself, “I’ll never become a Christian,” I understand. But understand that the mainstream representation you see today isn’t the real God. Seek the real one and you’ll find him.
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. (Matt 7:7-8)
